Just a few kilometers from the village and very near the creek Cala Reona, where he apartment is located, you can enjoy the manginificent Natural Reserve of Calblanque, that include a large area of virgin beaches and free of human urbanization.
It is also worth enjoying its plants and vegetation, including African species that inhabit this coast line, such us the Sabina mora, as well as typically Mediterranean plants as the rosemary.
Among the options for a hike within the Rserve, we would recommend the one departing from Cala reona to Salinas del Rasall, right in the middle of the Park (2 hours approximately) and that crossed the beatiful sand creek of cala Bonita (one hour from Cala Reona, easy even with children). Also try the one that rises from the spurs of the Park along the road to Portman up to the ancient military residence Bateria de las Cenizas, that enjoys great views over the Mediterranean Sea and the Portman Bay. This hike takes hardly more than 11/2 hours. In Summer it is advisable to do it in the late afternoon, for it crossed thtough the interior of the Reserve and does not follow the coast line as the previous one.
This Reserve is also integrated in the so called Sierra Minera of Cartagena La Union mountainous formation with an interesting geology and mining past, which principal center is the city of The Union known as well by its Flamenco Festival one of most famous made in Spain which takes place in August.
